Why AC asynchronous motor is called asynchronous motor? Dalan Motor tells you that because the speed of the AC asynchronous motor is less than that of the rotating magnetic field, it is called an asynchronous motor. It is basically the same as an induction motor.

AC asynchronous motors are divided into induction motors and AC commutator motors. Induction motors are the most widely used and can be generally referred to as induction motors without causing misunderstanding or confusion.

Induction motors are subdivided into single-phase asynchronous motors, AC-DC motors, and repulsion motors.

The working principle of the AC asynchronous motor is as follows:

1. When a three-phase asynchronous motor is connected to a three-phase AC power supply, the three-phase stator windings flow through the three-phase magnetomotive force generated by three-phase symmetrical currents and generate a rotating magnetic field.

2. The rotating magnetic field and the rotor conductor have a relative cutting motion. According to the principle of electromagnetic induction, the rotor conductor generates an induced electromotive force and generates an induced current.

3. According to the law of electromagnetic force, a current-carrying rotor conductor is subjected to an electromagnetic force in a magnetic field to form an electromagnetic torque that drives the rotation of the rotor. When the motor shaft is mechanically loaded, it outputs mechanical energy.

The characteristics of AC asynchronous motors are as follows:

1. The asynchronous motor is an AC motor. The ratio between the speed of the load and the frequency of the connected grid is not a constant relationship. It changes with the size of the load. The greater the load torque, the lower the rotor speed.

2. The stator winding of an ordinary asynchronous motor is connected to the AC grid, and the rotor winding does not need to be connected to other power sources. Therefore, it has the advantages of simple structure, convenient manufacture, use and maintenance, reliable operation, low quality and low cost.

3, asynchronous motor has a higher operating efficiency and better operating characteristics, from near-load to full load range near constant speed, to meet the transmission requirements of most industrial and agricultural production machinery.

4. Asynchronous motors can easily generate various protection types to meet the needs of different environmental conditions. When the asynchronous motor is running, it must draw reactive power from the grid to make the power factor of the grid worse.

5. The speed of the asynchronous motor has a certain slip relationship with its rotating magnetic field speed, and its speed regulation performance is poor. It is more economical and convenient to use DC motors for transportation machinery, rolling mills, large-scale machine tools, printing and dyeing and papermaking machinery that require wider and smoother speed ranges.

6. With the development of high-power electronic devices and AC speed control systems, the speed control performance and economical efficiency of asynchronous motors for wide-speed control have been comparable to that of DC motors.

AC asynchronous motors are widely used in household appliances such as electric fans, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, hair dryers, vacuum cleaners, range hoods, dishwashers, electric sewing machines, and food processing machines, and various electric tools and small electromechanical devices.
