ON Semiconductor Introduces New Offline LED Driver NCL30001

ON Semiconductor, the premier supplier of high-performance, energy-efficient silicon solutions for green electronics, is expanding its lineup of LED lighting solutions with single-stage integrated power factor correction (PFC) and isolated buck AC-DC ( AC-DC) New off-line LED driver for power conversion - NCL30001. This device saves dedicated PFC boost section, reduces component count, reduces solution cost, and improves the total energy efficiency of LED power system for LED street lights, low ceiling lights, Applications such as wall packs and building lighting.

Operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM), the NCL30001 can be configured as a constant current driver or a fixed output voltage driver, ideal for designs with power requirements from 40 W to 150 W. The controller is available in a SOIC-16 package and operates from 20 kHz to 250 kHz. The multi-function latch pin features an overtemperature shutdown circuit that provides circuit designers with a high degree of flexibility.

Other specifications of the NCL30001 controller include high voltage start-up circuitry, voltage feedforward for improved loop response, input undervoltage detection, internal overload timer, latch input, and high precision multipliers that reduce input line harmonics. ON Semiconductor also offers an isolated single-segment power factor correction LED driver evaluation board for applications requiring direct current output from 40 W to 100 W power range. The current can be adjusted from 0.7 A to 1.5 A for a wider range of high power, high brightness LEDs.

Christophe Warin, AC-DC business unit manager at ON Semiconductor, said: "With the increasing popularity and rapid increase in LED-based lighting design in the marketplace, the need for energy-efficient, cost-effective integrated system management devices is even better. The NCL30001 is fully compatible. These requirements provide engineers with flexible single-segment topology LED drivers that are ideally suited for their new LED lighting products. This is another powerful example of ON Semiconductor's ongoing development of lighting solutions tailored to customer needs."

The NCL30001 is available in a 16-lead SOIC package and is priced at $1.05 per unit in 10,000-piece quantities.

Airline Headphones

Aviation headphones are used in airplanes, cars, subways, etc., to facilitate passengers to listen to audio and watch videos to enjoy a pleasant journey.

The aviation earphones are mostly disposable, so the structure is extremely simple, the shape is relatively ordinary, the materials are small, and the annual usage is very large. The number of inquiry can reach several million or even tens of millions, so the cost is very cheap. earphones can cost as little as 10-15 cents. Therefore, they are disposed of as garbage after used, and passengers could take it away for personal use.

Styles can be divided into on ear headphones and in ear earphones.

Functional difference: power, impedance, and sensitivity etc. are also different. Airplane Headphone is mainly customized according to the equipment, place and user used. For example, 1 customer might require 300 ohms impedances , and other customers may need 32 ohms. For adults, the sensitivity may reach 100DB or more.To children, the sensitivity may be around 85-90 DB.

In addition, aviation headphones are not all disposable ones. Some first-class cabins need to be equipped with headphones with good noise reduction, sound quality and functions. So the price will be much more expensive.
