During the SID DisplayWeek 2018 held in Los Angeles from May 20th to 25th, LG Display (LGD) demonstrated a number of OLED display technologies. The most impressive display is a 77-inch panel that combines flexibility and transparency with 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution, 40% light transmission, and 80mm radius of curvature. LGD also demonstrated for the first time a VR OLED display developed in cooperation with Google. Its LTPS backplane, 4:3 aspect ratio, resolution 3840 × 4800 (1443PPI), based on glass substrates, supports 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, LGD also demonstrated the crystal-sound OLED, which has been used by Sony in the XBR-A1E OLED TV in 2017.
