TE Connectivity ( TE ) has introduced a new generation of Grace Inertia connectors - GI 2.5 and GI 3.3 - with advanced design concepts for more stable, reliable and durable connections. The GI 2.5 connector can be used in a wide range of large electrical appliances, from home appliances to vending machines; the GI 3.3 higher product socket design is ideal for washing machines and appliances that require waterproof design. Both new connectors are designed to reduce human error during installation.

The new structure of the GI 2.5 (2.5mm pitch) connector reduces joint insertion force by up to 59% when installed on the production line. In addition, it is smaller in size and saves material and space. The GI 3.3 (3.3mm pitch) is specifically designed to prevent any form of contact between the socket and the plug contacts, thereby preventing the contacts from deforming due to improper insertion. Its higher-profile socket design is ideal for printed circuit board applications that require a water-repellent coating, ideal for washing machines and applications requiring waterproof design.

Both of these new GI connectors are ergonomically designed with a barbed-free dual-track contact that prevents the terminals from entanglement during the crimping process, improving operational safety and efficiency. The GI2.5 and GI3.3 have five mounting positions and four different color options to choose from, making it easier to distinguish, thus avoiding mis-insertion or mis-insertion. Both connectors are compliant with IEC 60335-1 and meet the requirements of GWT750.
