Telit Launches Ultra-Compact Standalone A-GPS Module

On October 14, 2011, Telit introduced the SE868 and SL868 two-channel 48-channel standalone A-GPS modules supporting GSM/GPRS networks. They have high sensitivity, very low power consumption, and extended ephemeris injection that supports the fastest TTFF (first-time positioning). The low profile and small size of the QFN (SE868) / LCC (SL868) package allow for ultra-compact applications, which can significantly reduce the cost of the solution and reduce the space required. Its target market is positioning applications, tracking and tracking solutions that require high module dimensions, and need to be positioned quickly (

The SE868 is available in a QFN (Quad Flat No-Lead) package technology and is only 11 x 11 mm in size. It is the smallest module in the Telit portfolio. This packaging technology is well suited for medium and high capacity applications. The SL868 uses LCC packaging technology and is therefore suitable for small-capacity applications that require manual soldering or rework.

SE868 and SL868 can help achieve high energy effects. In contrast to a host-based GPS module, the stand-alone module operates independently of the GSM module or the application microprocessor. This means that they can operate normally when the GSM/GPRS module or the application microprocessor is in a power-saving mode or is powered off. In addition, advanced low-power modes are also provided, allowing the module to maintain and track position and dynamic parameters with lower power consumption.

Maximum Tracking Performance Assisted GPS can use information from external sources to speed up TTFF. A typical application is the injection of external ephemeris (EE) files in the form of self-generating (CGEE) or server-generated (SGEE). These two modules support satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) such as WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, and GAGAN. They are equipped with an internal software engine that can locally predict the ephemeris three days in advance from satellites collecting ephemeris data.

Both modules use flash memory to store A-GPS data, making it independent of external assistance. In addition, flash-based GPS modules can be upgraded with software.

Telit SE868/SL868 is highly sensitive and provides interference removal. This allows it to acquire and track under noisy conditions. The module is equipped with integrated LNA and various interfaces such as UART, I2C and SPI.

Dominikus Hierl, Marketing Director of Telit Wireless Solutions, stated: "In terms of total cost effectiveness and time-to-market, the Telit SE868 and SL868 combined with the Telit GSM/GPRS module represent the ideal wireless plus GPS solution. With an ultra-compact design, these modules are ideal for M2M applications and mobile/tracking data devices."

USB C Hubs

Information technology has penetrated into all areas of our lives. With the progress of technology, the iteration rate of laptops is getting faster and faster. Previous laptops mainly used E-SATA, FireWire, VGA, DisplayPort, SD card slot, USB A, 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI or RJ45 ports. But manufacturers began stripping connectors from laptops to make them thinner and lighter. Most new laptops now have a USBC port (Thunderbolt or full-featured USBC) and an audio jack. The laptop is thin, but the missing ports are useless. This is where the USB C Hubs comes in.

Type C Usb Hub can support USB, PD, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, and other protocols. Using USB HUBS, you can extend multiple common connectors directly to your laptop. Mosses are compact, so you can take them anywhere. All peripheral devices are centrally connected to the hub, which reduces the hassle of plugging in and out of the laptop port and makes your desktop cleaner. Let's take a closer look at its capabilities so you can determine how many ports you need.

So these are all important ports on the hub, with the exception of the 3.5mm audio jack. Also, while aesthetics are not important, choosing a nice hub will make you happier. There are rectangular, square, and circular centers on the market to meet your desk setup needs. Usually, the rectangular type is best for your desk because the cables can be well organized if all the ports are on one side of the center.
